Sneaker Chic: A Guide to Nailing Spring's Sporty Trend

If you've been keeping up with your daily digest of fashion news, you should be noticing that something quite interesting has been brewing in the industry for the upcoming spring season. Finally, women can embrace a more orthopedic-friendly style shoe that is taking the fashion-sphere by storm, our good old friend: the sneaker!

There are so many types of styles, functions, colors, you name it, that you can look for in a sneaker, which can make the whole selection process become pretty overwhelming. But don't sweat ladies, Mode has broken it down for you into three simple steps. First, take a look at the couture inspiration that caught our attention, straight from the runway in Paris. Second, we will show you how some Fordham's own students have styled several looks so you can pick your favorite(s). Lastly, we have provided some examples of each shoe type that are currently on the market for you to buy, so get them while they last!

FYI, there are two hot collaborations that we recommend you take note of:

1. Riccardo Tisci x Nike
Tisci has brought Givenchy to a whole new level of cool, and has done a superb job in giving the brand a great presence in street fashion. A Tisci collaboration with a sneaker kingpin like Nike is everyone's dream come true! Or at least mine.

2. Adidas Originals x Topshop
A more affordable option for us price-conscious shoppers. Topshop incorporates a chic flare to Adidas' classic designs. To add to the excitement, Topshop recently announced that it will be opening a new 5th Avenue store, making the brand much more accessible to Fordham students traveling around midtown.
